The Camp showing (on the Sphal-Kim property) is underlain by Upper Triassic Stuhini Group rocks, which have been intruded by Late Triassic monzonitic intrusions.

The Camp Zone consists of a group of small monzonite plugs and dikes punching through a series of Triassic flows, flow breccias and limy tuffs. Sections of the volcanics have been highly fractured and brecciated by the intrusions. The areas of intrusion and brecciation do not appear to follow any particular pattern or control. Chalcopyrite and pyrite occur in the monzonite and to some extent in the adjacent tuffs. Sample 245657, a grab over ten meters from an old trench on Silver Standard's Camp Zone, assayed 2.27 per cent copper and 4.18 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 18115).

In 1980 and 1981 Teck Explorations carried out soil sampling and ground magnetic surveys over the Camp Zone. 34 chip samples yielded a weighted average of 0.37 per cent copper and 0.58 gram per tonne gold over an average length of 8.4 metres (Desautels, P. (2011-06-21): NI 43-101 Technical Report for the Trek Property).

In 1989 Consolidated Silver Standard collected 14 rock samples on the Sphal 29, 31 and 33 claims at the northern end of the Camp Zone and between the Camp and West Zones. A grab sample (245657) over ten meters from an old trench on Silver Standard's Camp Zone assayed 2.27 per cent copper and 4.18 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 18115).

In 2014, Galore Creek Mining Corp carried out a rock sampling program on the Sphal-Kim claims (Assessment R. A total of six samples were collected to confirm copper and gold grades in historical samples. The program focused on verifying assays collected within the Tangle/Wall zone.

In 1918, Galore Creek Mining collected 5 geochemical samples on the Sphal-Kim claims, 4 from the same Tangle area as were taken in 2014.
